Project: Energy Efficiency Improvements in Rural Schools of Eastern Khatlon Area.
Duration: May 2017 – October 2017
Target area: Baljuvon, Danghara, Farkhor districts and Norak city.
Beneficiaries: 19931 schoolchildren from 100 schools of target areas.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE.
Development and upgrading 100 schools kitchens with fuel-efficient technologies to enhance environmental and economic efficiency of school meals preparation.
PROJECT RESULTS:
Ø 100 schools are equipped with fuel efficient cooking technologies such as:
- improved cooking stove / double chamber, - pressure cookers, - exhaust pipe water heater,
- heat exchanger, - solar water heater, - improved baking oven,
Ø Fuel saving for food preparation amounts to at least 40%. - Participating schools report consolidated fuel savings in the range of 50%-70%
Ø Kitchens are smoke free and feature easy to clean surfaces. - All installed cooking stoves and bread baking ovens feature exhaust pipes. All kitchens are thus smoke free.
Ø 8 masters are trained in productions of energy efficiency technologies - 13 masters + 80 aspirants for promoter participated in trainings organized by project.
