Target Area & Beneficiaries:1905 household in 17 villages of Baljuvon, Khovaling, Farkhor and Vanj districts.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE.

Pãîjåñt is directed tîwàrds raising the àwàrånåss of local population and the capacity building of the staff of the fîråst dåðàãtmåït în values of biodiversity, as well as about the thãeats and îððîãtunitiås fîã ñîïsåãvàtiîn of wildlife and ecosystem råstîràtiîn. Establishment of Joint Forest Management (JFM) groups.

PROJECT RESULT:

Ø 354 forest users trained on joint forest management (JFM) approaches, adaptation to climate change through sustainable forest management and value of biodiversity as well as about the threat and opportunities for ecosystem restoration.

Ø 6 common interest group (133 member) established on; pasture management, forest fruit dryers, joint forest management, beekeeping, herbs collection,

Ø 17 JFM groups established in:

            Baljuvon - 4 JFM         Vanj - 7 JFM                Farkhor - 2 JFM           Khovaling - 4 JFM

Ø 4681 ha forest area has plan for rehabilitation and afforestation,

Ø 38 subprojects developed and implemented among Pasture Users Groups and Joint Forest Management groups. These are following subprojects; mini solar system, pasture water points for animals, fodder production, construction of fold (animal yard), bridge construction, access roads to pasture and support shepherds with tent.

Ø 8 mini projects on processing of fruits and dairy production for woman groups.
